Bazaarvoice is a technology company that provides software that allows brands and retailers to collect and display several types of user-generated content (UGC) on their e-commerce websites. Bazaarvoice services include product ratings and reviews, questions and answers, sampling, visual and social content, insights, social commerce and social publishing.

History[]

Bazaarvoice was cofounded in 2005 by Brett Hurt and Brant Barton in Austin, Texas,[1] which continues to be the location of the company's headquarters today. In the years since, it has expanded globally to include offices in New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle, Toronto, London, Munich, Belfast, Paris, Amsterdam, Vilnius, Sydney, and, most recently, Bengaluru. The company has over 900 global employees.

After going public on the NASDAQ in 2012,[2] the company was taken private in 2018 after being purchased by Marlin Equity Partners.[3] Most recently in 2021, Bazaarvoice announced a majority investment from Thomas H. Lee Partners.[4]

The company has made a variety of acquisitions. The most recent include AddStructure,[5] a natural language processing platform, in 2018, Influenster,[6] a product discovery and reviews platform with nearly six million community members worldwide, in 2019, and Curalate,[7] a social commerce platform, in 2020.
