beekeeper is a Canadian indie rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Their debut album, BE KEPT, was released independently on September 15, 2010.[1] It was recorded (in part) and mixed by Colin Stewart (The New Pornographers, Dan Mangan, Kathryn Calder) at The Hive Creative Labs.[2][3] The first single from the album was "Sudden Cuckoo" and charted on numerous Canadian college radio stations, reaching No. 102 overall.[4] The song has also been in rotation on CBC Radio 3.[5]

Since 2011, beekeeper has toured multiple times in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec,[6] and opened for such acts as Menomena, NoMeansNo, and The Heartbroken.[7]

In 2012, beekeeper released a single entitled "Take Me Back (To The Place)" on 7-inch vinyl. The vinyl also contains a B-side entitled "Bad Advice".[8]

The members of beekeeper also play with Hey Ocean,[9] Sidney York,[10] and Katie Rox.[11]

In June 2012, beekeeper was selected as one of the top 20 artists in British Columbia to participate in CKPK-FM's PEAK Performance Project.[12]

In February 2013, beekeeper released their third recording, entitled "Shout At People".[13]
