"Best Life" is a song recorded by American rapper Cardi B for her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy (2018), featuring vocals from American rapper Chance the Rapper.[1] It was written by Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, Jordan Thorpe, and produced by Boi-1da and Allen Ritter. Composition[]

An uplifting, gospel-influenced song, "Best Life" lyrics include themes of the power of positive thinking,[3][4] highlights several emotions experienced by young adults,[5] and discusses the glamour of extreme wealth.[6] As described by a The Guardian editor, the song's laid-back beat "invites self-reflection," as Cardi raps about her triumph over adversity.[7] In one of her lines, she references Tupac's 1999 collection of poetry The Rose That Grew from Concrete.[8]

Live performances[]

Chance the Rapper joined Cardi B on stage to perform "Best Life" during her set at the 2018 Coachella Music Festival.[9]
