Big Brother Célébrités is the celebrity version of the international reality show of the Quebec version of Big Brother on Noovo.[1] The show features local celebrities in Quebec.[2]
On 24 August 2020, Bell Media announced that the celebrity version of Big Brother would start in the winter of 2020-2021. On 26 October 2020, it was announced that the singer Marie-Mai Bouchard will host the live shows on Sunday.[3]
The show premiered on 10 January 2021 and lasted for 13 weeks. The main show was broadcast at 18:30 from Monday to Thursday and 19:00 on Sunday. A spin-off show called Big Brother 7/7 was broadcast everyday at 22:00 on Vrak. This show features exclusive never-before-seen content of the best celebrity moments around the house.[4][5]
On 11 April 2021, Jean-Thomas Jobin, a comedian from Quebec City, won the show and received a Cadillac Model car, CA$25,000 cash and CA$25,000 donated to the cause or charity of their choice as the grand prizes. François Lambert, an entrepreneur from Montreal, finished as the runner-up. Richardson Zéphir was voted the favorite celebrity by the public and received CA$5,000 cash prize from 107.3 Rouge.
On 18 April 2021, the reunion show Le dernier confessionnal aired, the celebrities gathered for the last time and discussed things that happened during the season.
Production[]
Format[]
The format of the show follows the American version and the Canadian English version but with celebrity Housemates.[6] Patron de la Maison (Boss of the House) and Power of Veto had been used for this edition along with live evictions. Celebrities must use strategy and their psychological, physical and social skills to win events and thus avoid eviction. On eviction night, celebrities will cast their vote to evict one of the nominees. At the end, the one celebrity remaining will be crowned the winner.
The house[]
The house that the celebrities lived in is located on Île Bizard in the Montreal borough of L'Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève. It's a 28,000ft² (≈2601m²) mansion with three floors with 73 cameras installed and is the largest house of Big Brother around the world.[7] The house was revealed on January 8, 2021.
The house features two bedrooms for boys and girls each, the Boss Suite (La suite du Patron), a big suite for the Boss of the House (Patron de la Maison) to live in for a week, a bar and a gym.

Notes[]
- ^1 : On Day 15, a Mystery Box appeared in the house. To open the box, housemates had to solve an equation. If they answered incorrectly, they would not be able to guess anymore. Camille guessed the number correctly and was awarded a Power of Veto to use on one of the nominees. She also earned immunity for herself but was not able to compete in the Power of Veto competition.
- ^2 : As a result of Marie-Chantal deciding to walk from the game, the planned eviction for Day 22 was cancelled.
- ^3 : As a result of Varda walking from the game, the planned eviction for Day 36 was cancelled.
- ^4 : Week 6 was "Red Week". The Boss of the House would have to nominate three housemates and the Power of Veto was required to be used. On eviction night, the voting housemates would each vote for which two of the three housemates they wished to evict, and the two with the most votes left the house.
- ^5 : Over the next four weeks, following the vote, the evicted housemate was given the opportunity to compete in a redemption challenge. Success meant a return to the game, while failure meant their eviction stood. On Day 57, Maxime was evicted after declining to participate in the redemption challenge. On Day 64, Kevin was evicted after failing the redemption challenge. On Day 71, Camille successfully completed her redemption challenge, returned to the house and was immune from eviction the following week. On Day 78, Richardson failed his redemption challenge and was evicted from the house.
- ^6 : The final Boss of the House competition was a three-part contest that took place over the course of the final week in the house. The winner of Part 1 would automatically advance to Part 3 of the competition. The two housemates who did not win Part 1 would compete Part 2 of the competition. The winners of the first two challenges would compete in Part 3 to determine the final Boss of the House. They would then cast the final vote to evict, with that evicted housemate becoming the last member of the jury.
- ^7 : During the finale, the jury, consisting of the previously evicted ex-housemates, voted for the person they wanted to win. Marie-Chantal elected not to participate in the vote.
