Bijith Bala (also spelt BijithBala; born 29 May 1980) is an Indian film director/editor, who has worked predominantly in Indian movie industry. Bijith has worked in popular movies like Vellam, Nellikka, Shutter, Dug Dug etc. Bijith started his tryst in filmdom as a graphical designer in 2003.[1] His first movie as a visual effect artist was Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum in 2003. Followed that he has worked in around 10 movies as a visual effects artist. In 2007 he has moved to film editing field. He has many super hits in his editing career. In 2012 he worked as an associated director for the much acclaimed movie Shutter. In 2015 he has his directorial debut Nellikka.[2] The movie was a musical family entertainer. In 2018 he has moved to Bollywood and done the editing work for Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. which is an upcoming Indian biographical drama film based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, the former scientist in Indian Space Research Organisation. Later he has worked in his second bollywood movie , which is directed by Ritwik Pareek and has selected in Toronto International Film Festival in 2021.[3]

Career[]

Bijith has started his career in 2003 as a visual effects artist, later moved to editing dom. He has worked as an associate director for the much acclaimed shutter movie in 2012.[4] In 2014 he has his first directorial debut Nellikka in Malayalam filmdom. He has started his editing career in Bollywood as well from 2019.[5]

Personal life[]

Hails from Calicut Bijith was born to Balachandran, and Rajalakshmi.[6] He married Simi S Nair and they have a daughter, Anmaya Bijith.[7]
