Birmingham Excelsior Football Club was an English football club founded in 1876.[1]

History[]

Birmingham Excelsior participated in the FA Cup for five seasons, from 1883–84 to 1887–88,[2] disbanding at end of the latter season in 1888.[1] Excelsior played in yellow and burgundy hooped shirts, white shorts, and burgundy socks.[3]

Famous players[]

George Tait played in a friendly international for England against Wales in February 1881.[4] He was the only player to be capped for England while an Excelsior player.[1]
