Biswajit Bhattacharya is a former footballer and current manager of Calcutta Football League club Southern Samity.[1] He also managed Peerless SC in the Calcutta Football League.[2][3]
Playing career[]
Bhattacharya played in the striker position in Indian National Football team and played for East Bengal,[4] and Mohun Bagan both the team.[5][6] He scored a goal against Poland in 1984 Nehru Cup. That was India’s only goal in the tournament. After a bike accident Bhattacharya left his playing career and started coaching.[7]
Managerial career[]
On 1 July 2021, Southern Samity appointed Bhattacharya as their new head coach.[8][9]
