The blue-vented hummingbird (Saucerottia hoffmanni) is a bird in the family Trochilidae. Some taxonomic authorities consider it conspecific with the steely-vented hummingbird (Saucerottia saucerottei), while others consider it distinct. It is found from western Nicaragua to central Costa Rica.

This species was formerly placed in the genus Amazilia. A molecular phylogenetic study published in 2014 found that the genus Amazilia was polyphyletic.[1] In the revised classification to create monophyletic genera, the blue-vented hummingbird was moved to the resurrected genus Saucerottia.[2][3]
