Bodoland University (BU), established in 2009, is a public state collegiate university located in Kokrajhar, Bodoland, Assam , India.[1] It is the first university in the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) along with the Lower Assam region (except the capital Guwahati). The affiliation of all the 23 colleges of the region with the university is shifted to Gauhati University till the Bodoland University will attain the 12B status under UGC Act.[2]

History[]

Bodoland University was established by the Bodoland University Act, 2009[3] by upgrading the Kokrajhar campus of Gauhati University into a state university.[4]
