Boundless (Spanish: Sin límites) is an upcoming Spanish television miniseries, created on occasion of the 500th anniversary of the First Circumvalation Around the World. Set to be directed by Simon West, it will star Álvaro Morte and Rodrigo Santoro as Juan Sebastián Elcano and Ferdinand Magellan, respectively.
Premise[]
The plot retells a fictionalised version of the First Circumvalation Around the World, tracking the 1519–22 voyage initiated by Ferdinand Magellan and culminated by Juan Sebastián Elcano.[1]

Production[]
The project is the result of the collaboration agreement signed between RTVE and the Spanish Ministry of Defence in March 2018.[4] RTVE and Amazon Prime Video presented the project in February 2020: Simon West was announced as director, and MONO Films y KILIMA Media as production companies.[5][6] The screenplay was written by .[7] The cast members were announced on 22 April 2021.[3][7] The series will reportedly feature 4 episodes with a running time of around 60 minutes, with a total budget of €20M.[8][9] According to Amezcua the most important historical license in the screenplay was putting Magellan and Elcano together in the same ship.[8] Production began filming in Olite, Navarre, on 26 April 2021.[10] The beach in Getxo was also used as shooting location.[11]
