Brandi Richard

Brandi Richard Thompson is an American transformational growth strategist, life coach, young professional advocate, innovator, entrepreneur, trainer, author, civic leader, and past president of the National Urban League Young Professionals. She is NULYP’s first President to serve two consecutive terms, 2011-2013 and 2013-2015. Brandi is the author of Operation Growth.

Brandi Richard Thompson is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University in General Studies with an emphasis in Business, Computer Science and English and a graduate of the Ploughshares Fund Nuclear Security Cohort of the White House Project Go Run Political Leadership Training. Brandi participated in the NUL delegation to China, the African American Leaders Roundtable and the 2013 Aspen Institute Racial Equity Leadership Development Seminar.

She is a civil servant with 15+ years of service, and currently is a Public Affairs Officer for FEMA.

National Urban League Young Professionals Leadership[]

Brandi Richard served as President of the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP), an auxiliary of the National Urban League (NUL), supporting 64 chapters nationwide and reaching almost 2 million young professionals. NULYP gave over 100,000 volunteer hours and $700,000 to Urban League affiliates in her first term in office. She secured over $2,900,000 in sponsorship for NULYP and served as an NUL Board Trustee. She previously served as Southern Region Vice President and President of the Urban League of Greater Dallas Young Professionals (ULGDYP), now Dallas-Fort Worth Urban League Young Professionals.
