Brian Murphy (scholar)

A. Brian Murphy (born May 2, 1923)[1][2] is a scholar of Russian literature and Professor Emeritus of the University of Ulster.[3] He is regarded as an expert on the life and works of Mikhail Sholokhov and edited 's English translation of Sholokhov's best-known work And Quiet Flows the Don.[4] In 1977, he travelled to meet Sholokhov at the latter's hometown of Veshenskaya.[5] He has also published a book on Mikhail Zoshchenko.
