British School Salalah (BSS) is a non-private English language international school in the Dhofar region of Oman.

BSS was founded in 1970 by John Edwards MBE as the Salalah English Speaking School. It moved to its current premises after a gift of land from Qaboos bin Said in 1980. The current location was opened by British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on 23 April 1981.

Originally most of the BSS students were the children of British expatriates, However, as many of these families left Oman, the BSS enrollment dropped, reaching as few as ten children. In the early 2000s, enrollment climbed again as BSS started attracting a diverse mix of students whose parents wanted them to have a 'British-style' education. In 2013, the enrollment almost doubled.

In 2020, BSS introduced Year 10 teaching, and will teach Reception - Year 11 from August 2021.

BSS students are taught by native English teachers. The curriculum includes French language, Design and Technology, English, Maths, Humanities, Arabic, and Music.^[1]
