Call Me By Fire (Chinese: 披荆斩棘的哥哥; pinyin: Pī jīng zhǎn jí de gēgē) is a 2021 Chinese reality television show broadcast on Mango TV. It features 33 male celebrities who have been in the entertainment industry for over ten years competing to form a 17-member performance group.[1][2]

Premise[]

After two successful seasons of Sisters Who Make Waves which followed the general formula idol group reality shows like Produce 101 and Idol Producer, the show aims to put together a range of experienced male entertainers giving them opportunities to collaborate on stage.[3]

Episodes[]

Episode 1[]

The contestants are introduced to the rules and to one another. After introductions, contestants form groups based on similar skills (e.g. rappers, dancers, actors). Each group's performance consisted of short individual performances with a group performance to cap. At the end, all 33 contestants performed "Stupid Child (笨小孩)" by Andy Lau together to close. Contestants from Sister Who Make Waves served as presenters, including Baby Zhang (S1), Shen Mengchen (S1), and Yang Yuying (S2).

Episode 3[]

The contestants perform their first songs as a group.
