Calligonum comosum, the fire bush or arta, is a species of flowering plant in the family Polygonaceae.[2] It is native to the Sahara, Socotra, the Arabian Peninsula, and the Middle East as far as Pakistan.[1] It is useful as a stabilizer of sand dunes, a forage for livestock, a smokeless firewood, and as an indicator of fresh water.[2]
