Captain America and Nick Fury: The Otherworld War, also known as Captain America/Nick Fury: The Otherworld War is a sixty-eight page comic book one-shot[1] published by Marvel Comics in 2001.[2][3]
Publication history[]
The comic was written by Peter K. Hogan and published in October 2001.
Plot[]
The story takes place during the second world war and features Captain America and Sgt. Fury, who join forces to take out the Red Skull, who has stolen a mysterious secret weapon. When the Nazis trigger a gateway to the Dark Dimension, Captain America and Nick Fury find themselves face-to-face with Dormammu.
Reception[]
The book was the number 1 highest selling trade paperback in North America upon its release, selling 17,785 copies in August 2001.[4] SuperMegaMonkey of Comics Chronology stated that the art is decently good, but that the story leaves things to desire.[5] The reviewer of THE DAILY P.O.P. on the other hand expressed that the artwork by Leonardo Manco is really stunning and fits the level of drama as Hogan’s script, which is both entertaining and subtle in his opinion.[6]
