Carlos Costa (pilot)

Carlos Alberto Costa was a private pilot, US born US citizen with Cuban ancestry, who was killed when his plane was shot down by Cuban fighters over international waters near Cuba on February 24, 1996, while flying towards the Cuban mainland, since many times before the flight, Jose Basulto publicly stated that he and his organization would fly directly over Havana to show solidarity with “the concilio cubano”. He was educated at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.[1][2]
