Catherine, Called Birdy is an upcoming British medieval comedy film written and directed by Lena Dunham.

In February 2021, it was announced that Dunham has scripted and will direct a film based on the children's novel Catherine, Called Birdy by Karen Cushman that was "her longtime passion project".[1] At the end of March 2021 it was announced that Billie Piper, Andrew Scott and Bella Ramsey were included in the main cast.[2] On April 1, 2021, it was reported that Joe Alwyn and Dean-Charles Chapman joined to the cast of the film.[3]

Principal photography began on March 30, 2021 in close proximity to Stokesay Castle, Craven Arms.
