The Ceannt Station Quarter (Irish: Ceathrú Staisiún Cheannt) is a proposed urban quarter for the city of Galway, County Galway, Ireland. As the name suggests, the new district had been proposed to be built around the city's rail station, Ceannt Station, which was also due to undergo a major redevelopment as part of the project.^{[citation needed]} The project was "abandoned" in 2012.^[1][2] In early 2020, it was reported that an updated planning application for the development site was due to be lodged with Galway City Council.^[3] The updated plan, titled "Augustine Hill", would cover an eight-acre site around Ceannt Station "if planning permission is granted".^[3]

Currently,^[when?] Ceannt Station takes up an area of 0.99 ha. However, the site takes up an area of 5.97 ha, and the new 'urban quarter' is proposed to take up 3.80 ha (64%) of this land while the plan proposed that the station would take up 2.17 ha (36%).^{[citation needed]}

The 2007 plans proposed that Ceannt Station would undergo a major redevelopment to "make it the most modern transport hub on the island of Ireland",^{[citation needed]} with the existing two railway platforms being expanded (to three) to cover addition planned Galway Suburban Rail services.^{[citation needed]} Plans also proposed that 25 bus bays to be positioned next to the rail platforms.^{[citation needed]}
