  Central economic region
  Central Federal District
  European part of Russia

Central Russia is, broadly, the various areas in European Russia. Historically, the area of Central Russia varied based on the purpose for which it is being used. It may, for example, refer to European Russia, except the North Caucasus (according to the definition of Europe accepted in Russia, the Caucasus is not a part of Europe[citation needed]), or to the whole of European Russia.

There is also a Central economic region of the Russian Federation, and a Central Federal District of the Russian Federation.
