Changezi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Changezi also spelled as Changizi (Urdu: چنگیزی) is a surname in Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan. An Oxford University study on the “genetic legacy of Mongols” show people with this family name descend from Changez Khan (Genghis Khan) and/or his military that came to the Middle East and South Asia. It is common among Hazara, Aimaq, and the Mughal tribe within Central and South Asia and the Persian - Middle East in particular.[1]
