China Current

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The China Current is a platform managed by a think tank established by Hong Kong chief executive and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference vice-chairman Tung Chee-Hwa to promote a "deeper sense of belonging" and "national identity"[1] amongst Hong Kong people. The website states that it is "a digital platform with interviews, videos, and podcasts that explore the relationship between humanity and our shared global future."[2]

The website states that "As of January 2020, The China Current is also presenting The Novel Outbreak, a special series on the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of its commitment to sharing verified and trusted information during the global crisis." It is not to be confused with the now-defunct China Current, which no longer has an online presence.

The platform is hosted by James Chau, a former anchor with China Central Television (CCTV).
