Chingiz Ayazovich Allazov (Belarusian: Чынгiз Аяз аглы Аллазаў, born 10 June 1993) is a Georgian-born Belarusian kickboxer of Azerbaijani descent, currently signed with ONE Championship.[2] He is a former K-1 Super Welterweight Champion.[3]
As of April 2021, he is ranked the #6 lightweight in the world by Combat Press.[4]
Early life[]
Chingiz Allazov was born in the village of Jandar in Gardabani district,[5] situated on the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan. His family moved to Minsk, Belarus in 1994. He holds a business degree.[6]
Kickboxing career[]
Chingiz started Thai boxing at the early age of 10 to receive self-defence skills.
His first coach was Alexander Kovtik. Already 4 months after starting his training he won a Club Tournament. A year later Chingiz received the title of best at the Republican amateur contest and his first Champion of the Republic of Belarus title. In the next three years he won every tournament in his age category that he participated in. Overall, Chingiz had 207 (204 wins) fights during his amateur career.
He first fought professional in Thailand at the age of 13.
At the age of 16 Allazov moved to professional team "Chinuk" under the guidance of Andrei Gridin.
The first professional fight on the world stage occurred with Jakub Safaric (Slovakia) in the weight category of 63 kg. Chingiz won the fight on 15th second by knockout. Chingiz Allazov fought against Albert Kraus, Alexey Ignashov and many other renowned athletes. Since then range of victories had started: after 2009 Allazov has participated in 45 professional fights. He's won 43 of them (27 by knockouts).
Allazov participated in the 2014 A1 70 kg Tournament. He won decisions against Wallid Haddad in the semi finals and Abdallah Mabel in the finals.[7]
He participated in the 2015 A1 70 kg Tournament as well. Allazov won decisions against Ludovic Millet in the semi finals and Eduard Bernadou in the finals.[8]
Following this he won his first WAKO K-1 title, at 72.5 kg, with a unanimous decision win over Djimé Coulibaly.[9][10] Allazov won the WAKO K-1 title at 70 kg in 2016 with a fifth round knockout over Enriko Kehl.[11][12]
K-1 Super Welterweight Championship[]
Allazov participated in the 2017 K-1 Welterweight Grand Prix. He won the quarterfinal bout against Hiroki Nakajima with an uppercut knockout and the semifinal bout against Jordann Pikeur with a right hook knockout. Allazov won the tournament with a decision victory over Yasuhiro Kido in the finals.[13][14] He defended it with a second round knockout of Hinata Watanabe.[15]
Petrosyan vs. Allazov[]
He fought during Bellator Kickboxing 12, fighting Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee. He won by a unanimous decision.[16]
Following the Sudsakorn fight, it was revealed that Allazov suffered an injury to his right hand. He will make his kickboxing return, following a 13 month layoff, against Frederic Berrichon.[17] The government restrictions, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, prevented Nuit Des Championes from holding the event, so Allazov's fight was postponed until early 2021.[18]
ONE Championship (2021–present)[]
On January 16, 2021, it was announced that Allazov had signed with ONE Championship.[19] Allazov made his ONE debut against Enriko Kehl at ONE on TNT 1 on April 7, 2021.[20] He lost a close bout via split decision. [21]
Allazov will face Samy Sana in the quarter finals of the 2021 ONE Kickboxing Featherweight Grand Prix at ONE Championship: First Strike on October 15, 2021.[22] Allazov won the fight by knockout in 39 seconds of the first round via liver punch, becoming the first fighter to knock Sana out.[23][24]
Allazov is scheduled to face Marat Grigorian in the semifinals of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix at ONE Championship: Only the Brave on January 28, 2022.[25] Grigorian was later replaced by Jo Nattawut after the former tested positive for COVID-19. Allazov won in dominant fashion by first-round knockout.[26]
