Christopher C. Wimbish

Christopher Columbus Wimbish, Jr. (February 6, 1895 – December 27, 1962) was an American lawyer and politician.

Wimbish was born in Atlanta, Georgia and went to the Atlanta public schools. Wimbish was an African-American. In 1914, he graduated from Howard University.Wimbish then return to Atlanta and was involved with the life insurance business. Wimbish served in the United States Army during World War I and was commissioned a lieutenant. Wimbish moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and owned the Idle Hour Theater. In 1923, Wimbish moved to Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 1925 and was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1927. Wimbish practiced law in Chicago and served as an Illinois assistant state's attorney. He also served as an assistant corporate counsel for the City of Chicago. Wimbish was a Republican. He then switch to the Democrat. Wimbish then served in the Illinois Senate, as a Democrat, from 1943 to 1955. He then served as a trustee for the Chicago Sanitary District until his death. Wimbish died at his home in Chicago, Illinois and was buried in Atlanta, Georgia.[1][2][3]
