Cody Rigsby is an American fitness instructor and television show contestant.

Early life[]

Cody Rigsby was born in California[1] but raised in Greensboro, North Carolina.[2] In his freshman year of college, he began attending ballet classes at a community theatre. He travelled to New York City after a friend told him about an internship at a dance school. He returned to Greensboro in the fall, where he came out as gay to his peers. He permanently moved to New York City in 2009.[3]

Career[]

After graduating from college, Rigsby danced for multiple night clubs and gay bars;[4] he also worked for Katy Perry[5] and Saturday Night Live.[6] He danced backup for Nicki Minaj during the 2011 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.[7]

While working at , a burlesque club, a choreographer told him about Peloton, a fitness company that was looking to hire performers.[4] Rigsby sent in an application and was hired shortly after.[7]

On 19 September 2021, Rigsby was selected to compete on the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars[8] and was paired with professional dancer Cheryl Burke.[9] Rigsby and Burke ultimately placed third.[10]

Personal life[]

Rigsby is openly gay.[11] He is currently in a relationship with Andrés Alfaro.[4]
