Connell Pond

Connell Pond (

77°33′S 160°50′E / 77.550°S 160.833°E / -77.550; 160.833Coordinates: 77°33′S 160°50′E / 77.550°S 160.833°E / -77.550; 160.833) is a freshwater frozen pond in the Labyrinth of Wright Valley, McMurdo Dry Valleys. The pond lies in Healy Trough, 0.5 nautical miles (1 km) south of Rodriquez Pond. It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (2004) after of the University of Maine, the leader of a United States Antarctic Program field party that sampled the pond in 2003–04.[1]
