Contemporâneos

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Contemporâneos is a 2003 album by Brazilian musician Dori Caymmi.

Dori Caymmi is one of the most celebrated Brazilian musicians of our time. Caymmi has earned two Latin Grammy awards, five other nominations, and a wide collection of other prestigious honors. Caymmi is known for his ingenious arrangements, sultry vocals, and adroit guitar stylings that culminate into either soothing flights of fancy or robust romanticism. His music is distinctly cultural, adopting moods and themes that pervade his home in Bahia; a particular penchant he shares with his esteemed father Dorival. In his Latin Grammy nominated album Contemporâneos, Caymmi delves into contemporary Brazilian pieces of the present, incorporating modern talents such as his sister Nana Caymmi, Caetano Veloso, and Chico Buarque to create his own masterful renditions.
