The conversion of non-Hindu places of worship into temples has occurred in premodern India. Since 20th century, many non-Hindu religious sites in the West were bought and converted into temples to cater for the growing immigrant Hindu community there.[1][2]

Conversion of Islamic Mosques into Hindu Temples

This table lists former mosques with identified original buildings that have been converted into Hindu Temples. It also includes those temples where the original structure of the mosque no longer survives and the temple was built at the site of a former mosque.
