Cox's Bazar Development Authority (Bengali: কক্সবাজার উন্নয়ন কর্তৃপক্ষ) is a Bangladesh government development authority responsible for the development of Cox's Bazar.[1][2][3] Lieutenant Colonel Forkan Ahmed is the Chairman of Cox's Bazar Development Authority.[4]
History[]
Cox's Bazar Development Authority was established in July 2015 following the passage of an act in the Parliament.[5][6] The authority is responsible for developing the plans to turn Cox's Bazar into a major tourist city.[7] In 2019, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed the authority to develop a master plan for the development of Cox's Bazar.[8]
