Crayon Shin-chan: Great Adventure in Henderland (クレヨンしんちゃん ヘンダーランドの大冒険, Kureyon Shin-chan: Hendārando no Dai Bōken) is a 1996 Japanese language animated film. It is the fourth installment of Crayon Shin-chan movie series. The ending song SIX COLORS BOY is sung by Akiko Hinagata, a Japanese model and singer who appears four times in the film.

The film is about Shinnosuke and his classmates at Futaba Kindergarten going to an amusement park known as Henderland in Gunma Prefecture. Shin-chan is separated from his group and learns the dark secrets of the amusement park when he befriends a living marionette who entrusts to him a magical set of playing cards. Magical and dark forces are set upon Shin-chan and his family by the lords of the park and he must use the power of the cards and the inner strength and determination of himself, his family, and an unexpected group of friends to save the day.

Plot[]

A prince named Gorman fought with a dragon to save Henderland's princess Mimori, but got captured by the evil magic of Joma and Makao (who are dolls). This is a story that Ms. Yoshinaga narrates to her students. The school then organizes a field trip to Henderland, a theme park based on the same fairy tale. In Henderland, Shin-chan becomes separated from his friends and teachers and meets Toppema Muppet, a dancing doll in the restricted section of the park. Shin-chan winds the doll's key, causing her to move and talk like a human.

A mysterious man arrives and after failing to convince Shin-chan to leave, he transforms into a wolf and is revealed to be Cre.G.mad by Toppema as she and Shin-chan get chased by him. After escaping him, they meet Chokirin, a subordinate of Joma and Makao. She has an erotic appearance which Shin-chan gets attracted to. She and Toppema end up with a magical fight resulting in Toppema's seeming defeat. Shin-chan then gets called away by his teacher as he returns home.

That night, Toppema meets Shin-chan and explains that the tale of Henderland is in fact real and that the theme park was built to just hide the truth. She also explains that Joma and Makao lead a force of creatures that can control dark magic but are vulnerable to the magic of Magical Cards, the reason she wants him to help her is because the cards can only be used by living beings, not dolls like her. Despite being shown the power of the cards, Shin-chan refuses to help Topemma, resulting in her leaving enraged but leaves the cards with him.

Joma and Makao send Snowman (having a body temperature of -100 Degrees Celsius) to retrieve the Magical Cards from Shin-chan through any means nessecary. Snowman arrives at the Saitama Prefecture a few days later. Snowman pretends to be an educator from the Department Of Education by submitting a fake form to Shin-chan's principal. Snowman gains the trust of Shin-chan's teachers, friends, even his parents. Shin-chan tries to warn those around him to beware Snowman but nobody believes him. Snowman spends the night at Shin-chan's house and tries to steal the cards. Fortunately, Shin-chan uses the Magical Cards to lower Snowman's body temperature by calling Action Kamen, Kantam Robot and Buriburizaemon. Snowman escapes, but not before leaving a letter.

The letter left behind by Snowman contains tickets to Henderland. Despite Shin-chan's pleas, his parents still decide to visit Henderland. Before leaving, Shin-chan's parents visit the bathroom but behave very strangely afterwards. Once they return, his parents demand the Magical Cards before falling into the bathtub as they are revealed to be puppets. Suddenly, Toppema returns and theorizes that Joma and Makao must have captured the real Misae and Hiroshi when they visited the bathroom. Determined to save his parents, Shin-chan agrees to help Toppema. Toppema explains that she is most strong during nightime, so Shin-chan spends the entire next day in preparation.

Shin-chan arrives at Henderland in the evening and is suddenly ambushed by Cre.G.Mad, he uses the cards to call Action Kamen, Kantam Robot and Buriburizaemon and transforms into a steam train as Cre.G.Mad transforms into a wolf again. Buriburizaemon comes up with a plan, to create an additional track for Cre.G.Mad to crash into an obstacle. Unfortunately, the plan fails as there was no one to change the way, but at the last minute Toppema appears and changes the wolf's track, causing him to into the water. Cre.G.Mad's deteriorated body transforms into Hirsoshi, who reveals he was being mind controlled by Joma. The trio head towards Joma and Makao's base but get ambushed by Chokirin. Shin-chan uses the cards to once again call Action Kamen, Kantam Robot and Buriburizaemon and transform into an aeroplane.

Toppema and Chokirin once again engage into a magical fight as she defeats Chokirin, but gets weaker and weaker due to exhausting her power and gradually fades as her body transforms into Misae. The three then travel to Joma and Makao's palace where they are challenged to a dance fight. Joma and Makao perform a dazing ball dance while the Nohara family perform a traditional Japanese dance and win. They then get challenged to a regular card game which they also win.

In a defensive stance, Shin-chan uses the Magica Cards but this time uses the Joker Card. The Joker Card's spirit explains Shin-chan that in order to defeat Joma and Makao he must place the Joker Card on a pedestal located at the top of the palace. After a great persecution, Joma and Makao are destroyed and the castle begins to crumble. Fortunately, the Nohara family escapes the crumbling palace as they end up at a beach. There, they are ambushed by Snowman who is suddenly transformed into the handsome prince Gorman by Princess Midori. Midori reveals herself to be Toppema, she explains that thousands of years ago, Joma and Makao trapped her and Gorman's souls into the doll and a snowman respectively. A huge celebratrion is held (which the Nohara family attends) as peace and prosperity in Henderland is restored.
