The Creswell Chronicle is a weekly newspaper serving the city of Creswell, Oregon, United States. It was established in 1965 and is owned by Nash Publishing Group. In 2016, its area of coverage expanded to include Cottage Grove, Pleasant Hill, and Springfield.[1]
The newspaper's publishers have included SJ Olson Publications,[2] Sittser[3] and Hunt,[4] and Hakes.[5] The paper merged in 1974 with the Lakeside News and Pleasantimes.[6] The paper exhibited at the Print Market conference in 1976, which was believed to be the first trade show focused on newspaper marketing; at the time, its circulation was less than 1,000.[7] Its stories have been picked up at various times by the Cottage Grove Sentinel.[8] The paper's "Kids Korner" feature is nationally syndicated.[9]
On March 1, 2019, the paper came under the ownership of Noel Nash and his wife Denise. It had previously been owned for seven years by Scott Olson and his wife and Jeanne.[10]
A previous paper of the same name suspended publication in 1918.[11]
