Crown Prince Hyoeun (Korean효은태자; Hanja孝隱太子), personal name Wang-Won (Korean왕원; Hanja王垣) or Wang-Suk (Korean왕숙; Hanja王肅), and also known by his title as Prince Dongyang (Korean동양군; Hanja東陽君) or Grand Prince Dongyang (Korean동양대군; Hanja東陽大君), before he became the Crown Prince.[3] He was a Korean Royal Prince as the youngest son of Taejo of Goryeo and Lady Dongyangwon of the Pyeongsan Yu clan.[4]

He was the younger brother of Crown Prince Hyomok whom later became a Korean Buddhist monk at a young age and almost of his descendants were lived prosperous and making up the majority until 90% for House of Wang. The Prince was the first grandson of (유달) whom served as Gongbusangseo (공부상서).[3]

Later life[]

He later was executed by his older half brother, Wang-So because of his ferocious personality and he also secretly had different thoughts with people of insignificance.[citation needed]

Wang-So was also said that Hyoeun had a violent temperament and the intention of plotting a rebellion.[5] Both of his sons, Wang-Rim (왕림) and Wang-Jeong (왕정) whom at this time were too young, escaped from death and fled, hiding in a private house to survive.[3]
