Cumplo is a crowdlending company, operating in Mexico and Chile, which connects loan applicant companies with a network of investors through its online platform. It is a closed stock company, consisting of a directory of five members, whose president and founder is Nicolas Shea Carey. Since its beginning, it has funded more than USD 330 million in loans. It is certified as a B corporation.[1]

History[]

Cumplo was created in August 2011. It officially began operating in April 2012,[2] presenting itself as an alternative to traditional financial services. In November 2012, the company was distinguished with the national innovation award Avonni, in the Service category.[3] In 2016, Cumplo started its expansion across Chile, opening offices in Puerto Montt, Rancagua, Viña del Mar and Concepción.[4][5]

Organizational structure[]

The founder of Cumplo is Nicholas Shea, Commercial Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, MBA from Stanford University and MA in Education from Columbia University.

The CEO of the company is Gonzalo Kirberg and the VP of Technologies is Guillermo Acuña.
