Cynthia Lai (About this soundListen) is a Chinese-Canadian politician, who was elected to the Toronto City Council in the 2018 municipal election.[1] She represents Ward 23 (Scarborough North), which she has been a resident of.[2] Lai immigrated from Hong Kong in 1972 and has lived in Toronto ever since.[3]

Prior to her election, Lai worked as a realtor and was president of the Toronto Real Estate Board.[1]
