Da'Vinchi (born Abraham D. Juste; October 10, 1995) is a Haitian-American actor and rapper. He is best known for his roles as Cash Mooney in the sitcom television series Grown-ish (2018–2019), Darnell Hayes in the sports drama series All American (2019–2021), and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory in the drama television series BMF (2021–present).[1][2]

Early life[]

Da'Vinchi was born Abraham D. Juste on October 10, 1995, in Brooklyn, New York. At a young age, he moved to New Jersey.[3] His family roots are of Haitian origin.[3] When he was 13 years old, he moved to Florida with his father, and he had no money growing up, but his parents managed to keep things situated.[4]

He never became interested in acting until he enrolled in college.[3] He legally changed his name to "Da'Vinchi", as an inspiration for a stage name from the Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci.[3]

Career[]

In 2018, Da'Vinchi made his acting debut when he played Eric Ambrose in an episode of Jessica Jones.

From 2018 to 2019, he played the recurring role of Cash Mooney in the ABC television sitcom Grown-ish, for 8 episodes. From 2019 to 2021, he played the role of football player Darnell Hayes in The CW sports drama television series All American, for 18 episodes.[5] In 2020, he made his film debut in the 2020 sports film The Way Back as opposing basketball player Devon Childress, featuring Ben Affleck.[6][3]

In 2021, Da'Vinchi played the role of Terry "Southwest T" Flenory in the crime drama television series BMF.[7][8] According to his interview for DaMan Magazine, he said: "With the Broadway show and 'Black Mafia Family' coming up, I have been keeping busy. I’m now starting press for 'Black Mafia Family' and I only have a few more weeks in LA until I start Broadway, so I’m excited! I am a first-generation Haitian American kid who grew up in Brooklyn/New Jersey area. At 13, I moved to Florida with my father. I didn’t have a lot of money growing up, but my parents always knew how to maintain things. I didn’t know how much we didn’t have as a kid, because I had nothing to compare it to. At a young age I started hustling & reading books on people I admire".[4][9]

He appeared in the Broadway stage play Thoughts of A Colored Man, which made its first performance on October 13, 2021.[10][11][12] Most recently, he had signed a new talent deal with APA for representation.[13]

Music career[]

In 2020, he released his first single "Bet on You" on September 3, 2020.[14] As the song received reviews, he said; "I want to use music as a way to just tell my life’s story in a creative way. I want to be honest and transparent and connect with the people. Down the line, I’d love to reach a point where I can heal people with my lyrics".[14]
