Dalhousiea is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae. It belongs to the subfamily Faboideae. It was named after Christian Ramsay, Countess of Dalhousie, by Robert Graham for her work in the classification of Indian botany.[1] Dalhousiea was traditionally assigned to the tribe Sophoreae;[2] however, recent molecular phylogenetic analyses reassigned Dalhousiea into the Baphieae tribe.[3][4][5]

Species[]

Dalhousiea comprises the following species:[6][7][8]

  • S.Moore
  • (Roxb.) Benth.
  • Griff.

Species names with uncertain taxonomic status[]

The status of the following species is unresolved:[8]

  • Dalhousiea haematoxylon Benth.
  • Dalhousiea ovalifolia Benth.
  • Dalhousiea pyrifolia (Desv.) Benth.
