Damir Džombić (born 3 January 1985 in Srebrenik, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian retired football player who played as defender for FC Vaduz in the Swiss Super League.

Club career[]

Džombić started out at FC Basel in 2003 and was loaned out to Swiss Challenge League outfit FC Wil in the 2004/05 season to let his talents develop. When he returned to St. Jakob-Park, he failed to break into the first-team and was released by the club in 2007. He then signed for Liechtenstein's FC Vaduz on a free transfer and helped them earn promotion to the Swiss Super League in 2008. He scored the first goal of his professional career in a 2–1 defeat to FC Sion at Rheinpark Stadion on 16 August 2008. He later played for several lower league sides in Switzerland.[1]

International career[]

Džombić was capped for Swiss youth teams before he switched allegiance to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He played for their U21 team in 2006 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualification.[2]
