Dan Moret (born November 21, 1986) is an American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Lightweight division of Bellator. He has also competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Mixed martial arts career[]

Early career[]

Starting out his career in 2012, Moret fought across many reputable organizations, such as the Legacy Fighting Alliance, King of the Cage, and Resurrection Fighting Alliance. Compiling a 13-3 record, he had many memorable fights such as when he broke the seven fight winning streak of Jordan Griffin, whom he defeated by a rear naked choke.[2] He also fought for the Resurrection Fighting Alliance featherweight title against Raoni Barcelos, which he lost by KO. [3]

Ultimate Fighting Championship[]

Moret made his UFC debut against Gilbert Burns on April 14, 2020 at UFC on Fox: Poirier vs. Gaethje.[4] He lost the fight via knockout one minute into the second round.[5]

Moret faced Alex White on March 9, 2019 at UFC Fight Night 146.[6] He lost the fight by unanimous decision.[7]

Moret faced Jared Gordon on June 29, 2019 at UFC on ESPN 3.[8] He lost the fight via unanimous decision.[9]

After 3 straight losses in the promotion, Dan Moret was released in October 2019.

Post UFC[]

Dan Moret faced Anton Kuivanen at UAE Warriors 9 on November 29, 2019.[10] He won the fight via knockout in the second round.[11]

Bellator MMA[]

Moret faced Goiti Yamauchi on April 9, 2021 at Bellator 256.[12] He won the bout via a controversial split decision, where 9/9 media members scored the fight for Yamauchi.[13][14]

Moret was scheduled to face Mandel Nallo on December 3, 2021 at Bellator 272.[15] Nallo however pulled out of the bout and was replaced by Ricardo Seixas.[16] Seixas would pull out of the bout due to unknown reasons and was replaced by Spike Carlyle, with the bout being contested at a catchweight bout at 160 pounds.[17] After winning most of the bout beforehand, Moret lost the bout after being chocked unconscious in the third round.[18]
