Dannah Gresh (born 1967) is the best-selling author, speaker, and founder of True Girl (formerly Secret Keeper Girl), a popular Christian tween event for mothers and daughters ages 8-12.[1] She has authored over 20 books that have been translated into 12 languages, including And the Bride Wore White, and Lies Girls Believe. She is also the founder of Pure Freedom, a ministry which focuses on sexual theology.[1] Gresh is an author on the subjects of sexual theology and parenting tweens and teens. As of 2019 Gresh's True Girl event was held 619 times since 2009 with a combined attendance of about 356,000 people.[2] Dannah is a frequent co-host for Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth's Revive Our Hearts as well as a guest on programs like Focus on the Family and Family Life. She has appeared on CNN, Fox News, and the TEDx stage. In 2017, she partnered with her husband Bob Gresh to develop Born To Be Brave, a father/son connection experience. She lives in State College, Pennsylvania with her husband, Bob.

Gresh is the author of over 30 books. "And the Bride Wore White: Seven Secrets to Sexual Purity" and Lies Young Women Believe: And the Truth that Sets Them Free which she co-authored with Nancy Leigh DeMoss are her best-sellers.[3] In 2015 Gresh and clinical psychologist Dr. Juli Slattery offered a free copy of their co-authored book "Pulling Back the Shades" on the Christian perspective of sexuality in exchange for a copy of the E.L. James novel Fifty Shades of Grey.[4] She is also credited with creating a "Truth or Bare" test for girls as young as 8 years old.[5]

Teachings on human sexuality[]

Gresh emphasizes purity before marriage with an emphasis for young women.[6] Additional views on human sexuality include:

  • Abstinence is the only form of HPV prevention which is 100% effective and the HPV vaccine has significant risks and side effects[7]
  • Sex is only between a man and a woman within a monogamous marriage[8]
  • You get addicted and bonded to the people you have sex with[9]
