Dave Uejio is an American government official who is the nominee to serve as assistant secretary of housing and urban development for fair housing and equal opportunity. He has served as acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau since January 20, 2021.

Education[]

Uejio earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota.[1]

Career[]

Uejio began his career in government at the National Institutes of Health, serving as a public management fellow from 2006 to 2008 and as assistant to the director from 2008 to 2012.[2] In 2015, Uejio served as senior strategist in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Uejio joined the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in 2013, serving as lead for talent acquisition, strategy program manager, acting deputy chief of staff, acting chief of staff, CSO, and acting director.[3][4]
