David Strachan (bishop)

David Strachan (died 1671) was a Scottish clergyman. Originating in a branch of the house of Thorntoun in the Mearns, he opted for a career in the Kirk and became parson[dubious ] of Fettercairn. In 1662, after the Restoration, episcopacy was restored in the Church of Scotland and Strachan was appointed Bishop of Brechin. He was consecrated on 1 June 1662. He held the position until his death in 1671.
