Dean Monogenis

Dean Monogenis is an American painter and sculptor of Greek descent. In his work he creates architectural settings [1] using a variety of techniques which result in added lines, edges and textures that he thereafter accentuates.[2]

Education[]

Monogenis Attended Skidmore College and graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, BFA.[3]

Monogenis has shown his work internationally at galleries including: Baronian Xippas, Brussels, Belgium, [4] Galerie Xippas: Paris, France; Geneva, Switzerland, Montevideo, Uruguay; Athens, Greece,[5] Stux Gallery, NYC;[6] CCA Andratx, Spain;[7] Morgan Lehman Gallery, NYC;[8] and the Walter Maciel Gallery, Los Angeles[3][9]

Monogenis was awarded: The Artist in the Market Place (AIM) Program from the Bronx Museum of the Arts (Bronx, NY, USA).,[26] FLOW 14 Art at Randall's Island, (Randall's Island Park, NYC, USA).,[27][28] Visiting Artist Anderson Ranch Editions,(Snowmass, Colorado, USA)[29]

Artist in residence[]

Monogenis has twice held the position Artist in Residence at Spain's CCA Andratx Art Centre (in 2012 and 2016)[30] The Fountainhead Residency, Miami,[31] New York's Pace University, Dyson College of Arts and Sciences.[32]
