Deirdre Hargey is an Irish Sinn Féin politician and Minister for Communities within the Northern Ireland Executive, and a former Lord Mayor of Belfast.[1] who was co-opted to the Assembly to replace Máirtín Ó Muilleoir,[1] She was appointed as Minister at the formation of the executive on 11 January 2020. On 15 June 2020, Carál Ní Chuilín replaced her as minister on a temporary basis, due to Hargey's health.[2]

On 15th June 2020 Carál Ní Chuilín MLA was appointed as Minister for Communities as Deirdre Hargey MLA has temporarily stepped aside from the role for health reasons.
