Delivery Dudes is a Florida-based on-demand delivery service founded in 2009 by Jayson Koss.[1][2] A investor-backed company, Delivery Dudes uses logistics services for delivery of restaurant food, groceries, and prescriptions.[3]

History[]

Delivery Dudes was founded as Delray Delivery Dudes in Delray Beach, Florida. After a slow start, the company gained pace in 2012.[4][5] It expanded to 70 cities in South Florida, Colorado, Tennessee, Oregon and Pennsylvania.[6] As of 2020, Delivery Dudes services over 2000 restaurants in the country.[7]

In October 2015, the company introduced Dudes Liquor service to deliver alcoholic beverages and other supplies.[8]

In 2016, a driver filed a lawsuit against the company, which was settled for an undisclosed amount later.[9] In 2017, the company faced a lawsuit over employee payments under the Fair Labor Standards Act.[citation needed]

Amid COVID-19 pandemic, Delivery Dudes launched Dudes Bodega, a no-contact service to help people by picking-up and delivering groceries, prescriptions and other supplies at home.[10][11][12][13] The service is operational only in Florida.

Operations[]

Delivery Dudes is driver-owned and operated. Users can place an order by choosing their location and restaurant through the web browser or mobile application; or they can even place their order over the phone.[14][3][1] Meals are picked-up from restaurants and delivered using cars.[15][16]

Community service[]

Delivery Dudes partnered with Community Greening, a non-profit organization, to help plant trees in South Florida[17] and 4ocean, an ocean cleanup group, to help reduce plastics in its delivery service.[6][18] The company has raised more than $14,000 for Hospitality Helping Hands (H3), a nonprofit organization, by donating its delivery fees.[19][20]
