DemandTec enables retailers to deliver optimal pricing, promotions, markdowns using data science, as well as deal management with vendor partners.

In July 2019, DemandTec parent company Acoustic was formed as an independent enterprise marketing cloud player as a result of Centerbridge Partners' acquisition of IBM assets and team members formerly in IBM's Marketing Cloud group.[1]

In August 2007, the company priced its initial public offering at $11 per share. [2]

Acquisitions[]

In December 2011 it was announced that IBM had intent to purchase DemandTec;[3] the deal closed in February 2012.

As a standalone company prior to being acquired by IBM, the following acquisitions were made by DemandTec:

  • TradePoint Solutions (November, 2006)[4]
  • Connect3 Systems, Inc. (February, 2009)[5]
  • Acquired substantially all of the assets of Applied Intelligence Solutions, LLC (January, 2011)[6]
  • M-Factor, Inc. (March, 2011)[7]
