Demandbase is a targeting and personalization[1] platform for business-to-business (B2B) companies. Marketers can target online ads[2] to companies that fit pre-determined criteria based on attributes and metrics like industry, revenue, customer status, or products purchased.[3] The platform provides services such as managed analytics consulting,[4] target account marketing, and Facebook ad targeting.[5][6][7] The company’s patented[8] technology can identify[9] businesses visiting websites through the use of their network IP address,[10] without the use of cookies and in real-time.[11][12] The Demandbase platform integrates into other advertising and marketing technologies including marketing automation, web analytics, content and personalization, consulting, and other services.[13][4]

Headquartered in San Francisco, Demandbase was founded in 2006 by CEO Chris Golec. Golec was replaced as CEO by the company's Chief Revenue Officer Gabe Rogol in 2019, and left the company in 2021.

Acquisitions[]

In 2020 and 2021, Demandbase broadened its offering through significant acquisitions. In June 2020, it announced the acquisition of another ABM solution, Engagio, which added the capability of nurturing individual customers based on first-party data to Demandbase's ability to identify and target accounts through third-party data. [14] Jon Miller, co-founder of Engagio, and previously of Marketo became Chief Marketing and Chief Product Officer at Demandbase.

In May 2021, it announced the acquisitions of sales intelligence platform InsideView and firmographics vendor DemandMatrix. Going forward, the Demandbase suite will incorporate a Sales Intelligence Cloud and a Data Cloud to complement the existing ABX (Account Based Experience) Cloud and Advertising Cloud. [15]

Investors[]

In March 2013, Demandbase announced it had raised $15 million in its most recent funding round led by Scale Venture Partners.[16] Demandbase's investors also include Sigma Partners, Altos Ventures, Costanoa Ventures, Sutter Hill Ventures and Adobe Systems.[17][18][19][20]

By 2017, Demandbase had raised a total of $158 Million from investors including Salesforce Ventures, and Jackson Square Ventures.
