Democratic Independent Party (Democratic Independent Party; Korean민주독립당; RRMinju Dongnipdang) was a centrist political party in North and South Korea.[2][3] The party was established on 19 October 1947. Its initiators were An Jae-hong,  [ko], Hong Myong-hui, , ,  [ko] and Kim Won-yong.[1] Of them, Hong became the chairman of the party.[4] It participated in elections in North Korea from 1948 until at least 1962.[5]
