Demokraatti

Demokraatti is a Finnish language newspaper and Social Democratic Party organ published daily in Helsinki, Finland.

History and profile[]

Demokraatti was established in 1895. Its name in the beginning was Työmies (The Labourer). The paper is headquartered in Helsinki^[1] and is the organ of the Social Democratic Party.^[2]^[3] The paper is published five times a week.^[4]

In late 1997 another social democratic paper, , merged with Demokraatti, and they began to publish the same material, although Turun Päivälehti preserved its name.^[2]

The circulation of Demokraatti was 25,000 copies in 1997.^[2]
