Charles Dennis Holmes (born October 3, 1950)[1] is an American film and television actor. He is known for playing Mike Williams in the American western television series Laramie.[1]

Life and career[]

Holmes was born in Encino, California.[1] He began his career in 1954, appearing in the television series The Jack Benny Program. Holmes joined the cast of the western television series Laramie, in 1961.[1] He first portrayed Williams in the episode "Dragon at the Door" in Laramie's third season.[1] He continued on television and co-starring and appearing in films, such as, Hound-Dog Man, Violent Road, The Fiercest Heart, Key Witness and Woman Obsessed.[3]

Holmes's television credits include, The Andy Griffith Show, Bonanza, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, The Virginian, 77 Sunset Strip, Bachelor Father, Tales of Wells Fargo, Leave It to Beaver, Father Knows Best and The Deputy. He retired in 1964, with his last credit from the western television series Wagon Train.[1] After retiring, Holmes worked as a technology specialist in California.[1]
