Dermstore is a skin care and beauty e-commerce site in the United States.[3] Since December 2020, it is a subsidiary of The Hut Group which is a British e-commerce company.

History[]

Dermstore was founded by dermatologist Craig Kraffert in 1999.[4] In 2012, the company expanded from distributing professional skin care, to consumer cosmetics brands.[5]

In early 2013, hairstylist Harry Josh launched a product line with Dermstore as the exclusive retailer.[7]

On August 6, 2013, Target Corporation acquired the Dermstore Beauty Group.[8] Following the transaction closing, Dermstore became a wholly owned subsidiary of Target which operates as a separate entity under its online name, Dermstore.com.

In July 2019, Dermstore partnered with the American Academy of Dermatology to provide skin care education.[9][10]

In December of 2020, The Hut Group announced it would buy Dermstore from Target Corporation for $350 million.[11] As of 6:00am UTC on the 2nd of February, the deal has closed and THG became the official owner of Dermstore.
